| Description: A private, non-profit organization, Selfhelp was founded over 65 years ago by a small group of refugees fleeing persecution during the Holocaust. Today, Selfhelps Nazi Victim Services Program is the largest of its kind in North America. We are also nationally recognized as an innovator of home care and senior services including supportive senior housing to 1,000 residents, and training programs for home care workers. Licensed by New York State Department of Health, Selfhelp provides over 2.5 million hours of quality home care a year. Experts in vital, productive aging since 1936, our mission has always been to assist older adults to live happy, independent lives in their own homes while helping them maintain their health and safety.
